Dial in Free

July 31, 2009

Believe it when I say that Dial In Free (http://www.dialinfree.net) is the real deal. I was a little skeptical at first, wondering what strings were attached. The only real “string” is that if you need technical support, there is a five dollar charge. However, the setup is so simple that unless you really don’t know what you’re doing, you’ll never encounter a charge. All you need to do is get your local number, create a dialer, and boom, free internet. The only drawback is that Dial in Free is only available in the 231, 616, and 269 area codes.

Triton Technologies, Inc.

Search Engine Optimization is more complicated than you would think at first glance. It takes time to wade through information on the internet, and even worse, have to decipher the bogus information from legitimate information. There are a lot of so called “SEO companies” that can actually tarnish your web site’s image as opposed to help out in any tangible way. On top of that, they grossly over-charge for short term gains, but set web pages up for huge loses in the long term. Make sure you choose a company that will do right for your needs. http://www.triton.net offers several customizable web optimization packages to fit particular needs and goals of every size and type of business.

Best BBQ Sauce!

April 30, 2009

For as long as I can remember I have been on the search for the world’s best bbq sauce. It started out at my local grocery store, carefully choosing each week a different sauce, taking it home and testing it throughout the week with various meats. Then it became a small obsession when I began perusing the lesser known, local establishments in my area. Once I started it, I could not stop my quest for the perfect sauce. After I’d used up my local resources, the internet was the only logical choice. Using the information that I’d obtained (oh yes, I keep a BBQ Sauce journal) my first Google search was entirely focused on the longhorn state of Texas. I ordered a few samples online, each one stating that they were better than than the rest. I laughed outloud at some claims, because by then, I’d considered myself a “BBQ Sauce Expert” and had this whole “Bring It On” attitude. Then the day finally came….Eureka….i’d found it, at last! It was at the last place I’d expect, in a small town called Bel Air, Maryland. Courtesy of Picky Vicki’s Gourmet Sauces & Rubs website at http://www.pickyvicki.com. The verdict is in and the Best BBQ Sauce is…..Shamelessly Sassy Bold BBQ Sauce! I find out later, after more Googling that it has won 1st place in the Fiery Food Challenge 2009 in both the XXX Hot Category & Chile Specific Category. It’s no wonder, because after 100’s of sauces later, I found my match, and it’s a match made in sauce heaven.

Digital Phone Service

December 22, 2008

I recently signed up for Triton Voice and it practically cut my phone bill in half.  This is great, I can call anyone in the world, regardless of their phone service.  It was easy to connect, a device about the size of a pack of cards, that hooked right up to my broadband.  The rates are incredible and it’s a flat fee with no taxes added.  Check out http://www.tritonvoice.com for all the awesome details.

Grand Rapids Public Radio

December 22, 2008

There’s a new face on the Grand Rapids Public Radio scene.  Has anyone heard the new 1680 AM?  It used to be Radio Disney, but now bills itself as WPRR, Public Reality Radio.  They do progressive, educational broadcasting.  They also have a live stream right off of their website at http://www.publicrealityradio.org.  Take a look at the catalogue of shows.  One of my personal favorites is The Thomas Jefferson Hour.  Humanities scholar Clay Jenkinson speaks on a variety of historical and contemporary issues in the character of Thomas Jefferson.  It’s unlike any show I’ve ever heard before and is extremely interesting.  Other new content the have is equally as captivating.  Shows like “Dogma Free America” and “Freethought Radio” and other Pacifica Radio content will more than likely make some waves in conservative West Michigan, but I for one am pleasantly surprised that there is some refreshing new content being offered to the Grand Rapids community.
